Furthermore, it will briefly overview the significance of studying the evolution of social work through a historical lens, emphasizing how past events and societal transformations have shaped social work's core principles and practices.

This section of the presentation will explore the historical genesis of social work preceding the 20th century, which will set up a frame for further research. It will analyze the primary influences and events, such as the Charity Organization Society and the Settlement House movement, which provided the basis for the profession. The goal is to investigate how early forms of social welfare and philanthropic efforts laid the foundation for the structured approaches that exist today, and this study will focus in detail on evolving early systems in social support.

This segment is focused on analyzing the seminal developments, transformations, and developments that shaped social work during the 20th century. During the course of research, we will investigate the impact of major historical events, including two World Wars, economic downturns, and civil rights movements on the evolution of methods and strategies. This analysis will include examining the emergence of specific social work specializations, the professionalization of the field, and the evolution of social work education and approaches, as well as the important impact of the great depression.

This area focuses on how the core theories and ideologies have developed and are influenced by historical shifts and societal alterations. We will investigate the impact of theories, such as strengths-based approaches and psychodynamic and systems theories. It also explores how these conceptual frameworks shaped the approaches, interventions, and methods used by social workers. This segment of the presentation will analyze the shifting influences of these ideologies, showing how they have responded to changing social realities and societal factors throughout the history of social work.

This section will explore the continuous connection between social work and the pursuit of social justice. The core focus here will be on examining the historical involvement of the profession in advocating for marginalized groups and human rights. We will investigate the role of social workers in combating discrimination, poverty, and other systemic inequities. The aim will be to also explore important case studies of social work's impact on social reform movements, highlighting achievements and challenges of these struggles.

This point of the presentation is set to analyze some of the main challenges encountered by social workers throughout history and how they have adjusted their strategies over time. This includes exploring the influence of historical factors, such as economic changes, policy shifts, and evolving social norms, on the social work profession, methods, and practices.
