Students will be able to identify and represent fractions of whole objects and sets. They will also be able to use appropriate English vocabulary related to fractions in practical mathematical contexts and describe fractions in simple sentences.
Students will demonstrate understanding of the basic concepts of fractions, including the meaning of numerator and denominator. They will be able to represent fractions using visual models and identify equivalent fractions. Students will also be able to apply their knowledge of fractions to solve simple mathematical problems involving division of objects and sets. This knowledge will lay the foundation for more complex fractional operations in later studies.
Students will develop skills of logical reasoning and problem-solving through activities involving fractions. They will analyze and interpret visual representations related to fractions, enhancing their skills in interpreting information. Students will learn to collaborate effectively in pairs or small groups, developing communication and teamwork skills.
